There he studied naturopathy, oriental medicine, body work, herbology, iridology, clinical nutrition, anatomy and physiology. He did postgraduate study in homeopathy with Rajan Sankaran and Jayesh Shaw and practices Sankaran's Sensation Method of classical homeopathy.
THE HOMEOPATIC CONSULTATION: The classical homeopathic consultation for a chronic illness, mental health issues, addictions, or criminal behavior takes 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours. It is a unique interview. The homeopath needs get enough information about you to create a complete, holistic, picture that can be matched to a remedy picture. You will be asked to tell about your physical symptoms as well as your mental and emotional state. Be prepared to talk about any aspect of your life: particularly your fears, dreams and childhood experiences. If the patient is a young child, the parents will be giving much of the information.
After the consultation the homeopath will usually take a few days to decide on an appropriate remedy for you. You will recieve a call informing you of the remedy choice and how to order and take the remedy. Most remedies are ordered over the phone from homeopathic pharmacies and are delivered through the mail.
The first follow-up will be scheduled for about one month after beginning the remedy. This interview is necessary to judge how the remedy is working and to see if any changes are required. A second follow-up is normally scheduled for two months later. Follow-ups are then scheduled at three to six month intervals depending on your progress. Since you are seeing the homeopath so infrequently, the cost of homeopathic care is reduced in comparison to other therapies where the practitioner is seen more often.
Homeopathic treatment begins a healing process that must be completed to receive the full benefit. Most patients notice significant improvement in their symptoms within the first month of homeopathic treatment. Many patients remain on the same remedy for the duration of their treatment. Some patients may require some remedy adjustments and changes during their treatment. The length of homeopathic treatment varies with each patient. Generally, the longer you have been ill, the longer you will need to be on your remedy. The simpler cases may resolve within 6 months. The more difficult cases, like mental illness, may take several years or more. While on the remedy you will experience continued improvement of your symptoms. You will eventually reach a point where your symptoms disappear. At this point you are considered cured and no longer need to take your remedy.
Patients on medication can continue their meds while taking the homeopathic remedy. Their physicians slowly reduce and then eliminate their medication when they see that it is no longer necessary. Patients recovering from alcohol, drug, gambling and other addictions continue their 12 step programs while taking the remedy. Patients receiving psychiatric counseling often continue that treatment while taking the remedy.
The 2 common remedy formulations are the solid sugar pill and the LM liquid. The sugar pill is taken infrequently (sometimes only once every 3 - 6 months or more). The LM liquid is taken daily. It is often recommended for those patients that are on medication or those that must drink their coffee. So, is not necessary to give up coffee to be treated homeopathically.
The fee for the initial consultation for a chronic illness is $285.00 and each follow-up is $85.00. Remedies usually cost $15.00 to $20.00 depending on the formulation.
The consultaion for an acute illness or first aid for an injury takes about a half hour and costs $85.00. Improvement in an acute case can be seen almost immediately after taking the remedy.
LIVE NOW - LIFE COUNSELING: Steve has expanded his homeopathic practice to include this alternative counseling therapy which can be undertaken along with homeopathic treatment or separate from it. Live Now therapy enables the patient to see that it is their thinking that is causing all their problems. The patient comes to see that they are not their thinking; they are not the voice inside their head that they have always identified with. As the patient learns to live from their intuition and innate knowing, their true nature surfaces. They change fundamentally. Mental and emotional problems disappear. Live Now Life Counseling consists of a series of office visits or phone conversations during which the patient is given techniques and advice about the Live Now process. The length of treatment varies depending on the depth of the patient's disorder.
